Which of the kids/grandkids could he be referring to?Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04049555822700290297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8180504953377315446.post-73653170096206855012009-01-10T12:43:00.000-07:002009-01-10T12:43:00.000-07:00While I was in the middle of child rearing, I was ...While I was in the middle of child rearing, I was aware, of course, of how much my wife did. She did all the things the article mentioned, plus the full-time job as prophet, seer and revelator to everything in the Church world of our kids--prayers, scriptures, family home evening, primary talks, scouting, For the Strength of Youth, Duty to God, Young Womanhood, girls camp, sports, and all the other stuff Mormon mothers do.

But then I had a break. My own kids grew up. My wife and I got our lives back.

And then I started seeing what our daughters and daughters-in-law were going through, it was like a revelation all over again. I was struck by how everything with kids is a battle--they don't want to get up, they don't want to go to bed, they don't want to go to school, they don't want to come home, they don't want to eat this and that, they don't want to get in the car, they don't want to get out of the car, they don't want to clean up their messes, and on and on. They whine and cry and fuss and fight at almost every step along the way.

And I'm talking here about the really cooperative ones. Some of our kids and grandkids weren't/aren't so cooperative. (I won't name names.)

So, here's my kudos to you wonderful mothers. I love you. I honor you. I deeply respect you. You are doing a marvelous work and a wonder. You are the greatest.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02880443246402125109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8180504953377315446.post-84710907338283746462009-01-10T12:17:00.000-07:002009-01-10T12:17:00.000-07:00FANTASTIC!! A man works from sun to sun but a woman's work is never done. I think fathers are more involved these days but truly mothers are always doing something.Deanna Quinton Larsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08547645426457395510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8180504953377315446.post-9767085565769403222009-01-10T11:36:00.000-07:002009-01-10T11:36:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02880443246402125109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8180504953377315446.post-67796787015534775112009-01-10T10:06:00.000-07:002009-01-10T10:06:00.000-07:00Oh thank you!Oh thank you!Reynahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09728903720097859572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8180504953377315446.post-55625500379230963092009-01-10T10:03:00.000-07:002009-01-10T10:03:00.000-07:00I totally agree.
