An Unabashed Brag or Two

BRAG #1
School pictures are a total wild card. You never know if your kids' photos will come back with them looking like super models or short-bus students. (Okay, that was naughty, insensitive and sooooo politically incorrect for a school psychologist but I just couldn't resist.) This year Kenna and Todd looked pretty darn good in theirs. Maybe not like super models but possibly good enough for the JC Penny catalog, or at least ShopKo ad.

BRAG #2
I went to Parent-Teacher conferences for both children today.
Todd's meeting was short. We ended up talking a lot about my job because the teacher had nothing but crazy high scores and good behavior to report. I'm certain that his grades will stay high but I'm praying that his attitude and classroom actions will remain positive.
Kenna's meeting was equally glowing but took a little longer because her teacher was trying to convince me to enroll her in the district's gifted program. I have no concerns that her smiley face will stay glued all year. She loves school and seems to be comfortable around lots of different friends.

Okay, I'm finished (and blushing). I love these kids through the good and the bad but I sleep a little easier during the good.

Lucky you, lucky kids! I love it when there is less to worry about! Less wrinkles for me! LOL

Those are some GREAT kids. Happy B-day to Todd--if I don't get a chance to call.

Looks like these kids didn't fall far from the tree (that was a compliment, just in case you were wondering) You are a stupendous mom and a great friend. I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK in St. George. I wish I could cheer you on down there, but know that I will be thinking of you up here. I can't wait til it is over (I know that you should be the one saying that instead of me right now), so that we can go on our little short runs for a while. I think i have scraped enough money together to get new shoes... hooray! I miss running with you. You have always lifted my spirits and I am really lucky to call you my friend. Have a great run!!!!

What an awesome day for a mom - cute school pictures AND glowing teacher conference reports!! What more could you ask for?! Just an indication of how well they're being raised, in my humble opinion ;)

It's okay to brag about your kids on your blog. All of us are happy to hear they are doing well. They are great kids and yes, those school pics are good ones. So cute! It sounds like the smarts run in the family. I sense some great mothering, Rita.

B-E-A-UTIFUL kids! They've got good genes - both for looks and for smarts! I don't know them well, but they just LOOK like sweet kids. I'd love for our kids to get to know each other. When's the next Canadian get together?

What's that old saying, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree"?

You should brag, Rita, what neat and great kids. You and Brent have done an awesome job with them, and how cool you've involved Todd in the running. Hey think of me after you've run your first 3 miles this weekend, and know that you kicked my rear! Q
