Anniversary Weekend in St. George

Brent is a great gift-giver, always. (At least since he forgot my birthday T-W-O years in a row!!! Don't hold it against him. I'm doing a pretty good job of that on my own.) Anyway, he really is. The three pictured gifts may not seem like much but it is the way he gives as much as what he gives. ROSES--a stereotypical anniversary gift but not from Brent. He gives flowers on two occasions--for forgiveness (tee hee) and to remind me that I am more than a mom, (mediocre) housekeeper, or friend. I am his WO-MAN. He loves me. Diet Dr. Pepper and a straw is a reminder that he does not judge me by my weaknesses. He accepts the whole me. It is nice to be reassured of his unconditional love.

We had a lovely time alone in St. George. I send a big shout out to the brave sister-in-law/aunt-of-the-year who allowed us a little peace and quiet at her mental expense. Thanks, A! We had a great time running, shopping, eating, hot-tubbing, watching non-Disney TV and an action flick, and sleeping in. These are pictures of us during our respective races. You can tell by the bigger smile on my face that I ran the shorter distance ;)

Way to go Brent! Great, thoughtful gifts. But, where are the sunglasses? I hear she needs a few more pair!

You guys look like the picture of health in your races. Way to go!

I need a pair of running shoes. Any suggestions as to where to get them, brands that are good, etc..? I seriously need some advice. Thanks!

You probably looked a lot younger than 38 because ... no kids!

I'm always happy to find out that (when) Brent treats you nice. We husbands need to do more of that.

Ooo Rita, loove the brown running pants, very flattering fit!!! And, btw, Brent -- totally not fair -- how do you just pull out of 1/2 marathon like you taking a Sunday walk in park???

I'm so glad you had a nice weekend, the last one Troy and I had together was 2 years ago -- New York, huge snowstorm, Troy was very ill most of the time. We really need a do-over!

What a fun weekend. You guys look great and so fit. Doesn't it feel good to get away and remember who you are as a couple?

Brent did very well in his anniversary gifts. I had never had Diet Dr. Pepper until this past week and it's much better than other diet drinks. I tend to DESPISE all diet drinks. I think I'm starting to see why there's that little addiction :-)
